FINDING YOUR PERSONAL STYLE

"Fashion comes and goes,
Style is forever"

Every chic should have a particular style that speaks to thier fashionable self. Having a lot of clothes in your wardrobe, doesn't mean you are stylish, in the same vein, having just a few clothes doesn't mean you can't be stylish. Regardless of what life throws at us, it's important to be able to adapt while still maintaining a style that is all our own.

Having a great style is not just about posting instagram pictures, its comes down to making great first impressions, being confident and feeling really beautiful in whatever you wear, because you own that sh*t!

I took a style quiz recently which revealed what I already knew. My dominant style is Chic (defined by a powerful look and sharp lines that seem to come together in an effortless way. It is often monochromatic and combined with bold accessories.)

For you it might be different. Here are some ways to easily determine your personal style:

1: Find a style-sister:
If you could have access to Toke Makinwa, Lisa Folawiyo or Rita Dominic 's wardrobe for a year, who would you pick?. Find a celebrity, model or blogger whose style you like to emulate, use characteristics from their outfits to create your own looks. (Don't be a copycat)

2: Clean out your closet:
Basically re-arrange your wardrobe, looking for similar outfits you love to  wear regularly, no matter the occasion. You keep buying those types because you feel happy and comfy in them.  Also use this as an opportunity to de-clutter.

3: Admire yourself:
Take a good look at yourself in some of your outfits and see which types of clothing play up your perfections and hide your flaws. For example you can never find me in low waist jeans, they don't flatter me. This will also help you shop smarter.

4: Know yourself:
What do you do? How old are you? Where do you go to unwind?
Put your lifestyle into consideration. Answers to these will really help you build a great selection of clothes that you have a personal love for.

5: The greatest fashion accessory is CONFIDENCE
Whatever you wear, know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Walk like your hips move mountains. Anything that make you feel confident and beautiful will never go out of style!
