THE LAGOS CHIC CAPSULE WARDROBE - DOUBLE DENIM
10:09 pm
Thank God it's Friday!
Thank you for visiting my blog today.
I'm so excited to be kicking off my outfit posts this year I have so much to show you guys. It's always so thrilling to share my personal style and fash-capades (random word I made up from fashion + escapades).
Before embarking on this new series "The Lagos Chic Capsule Wardrobe" I'd like everyone to understand what a capsule wardrobe is. According to www.fashionmagazine.com the goal is to have a streamlined wardrobe of high-quality pieces that could be worn often and interchangeably, thereby saving money, closet space, and time. I think its pretty easy for a Lagos chic because our weather mostly stays the same, but there are some wardrobe staples that you must have as a fashion conscious girl for everyday slay.
Today I'm starting with one essential which is the Denim. As a Lagos chic this is definitely my go to style for almost every event, emphasis on almost. I think there's something about pairing denim and denim that just agrees to all fashion rules. It's a classless and timeless staple.
From the high street to high fashion, double denim cuts across it all yeah?
Some of the reasons for creating a Capsule Wardrobe include:
- Helps to figure out what matters. When buying clothes you don't always have to keep up with trends. Invest in "important" clothing items.
-Reducing the time it takes for you to get ready. Hey, you have clothes you can wear anytime and anywhere without having to turn your room upside down!
Here I'm wearing a faded denim top same I wore here with shorts and denim jeans. I went semi casual with wedges and my fave bag of all time.
We can all agree that a double denim fit can go from casual to formal in a sec with the right accessories. So I could wear pumps and throw on a blazer jacket - formal; wear with slides, a face cap and little or no jewelry - casual.

I chose this look because for a capsule wardrobe you' ll need pieces that can take you anywhere. So in this outfit I could be picking up lashes at Ikeja under bridge and still be able to meet up for drinks later on in the same outfit. It's easy and is definitely a wardrobe essential.
I was feeling rather lazy to shoot this look today, but if you recall I've promised one post a day so I got up and took pictures in the house! Lol
Although I haven't decided the frequency of this Capsule Wardrobe posts, I'm looking forward to curating 12 all-season outfits as My Lagos Chic Capsule wardrobe. I hope you stick around!
What's your favourite way to wear denim? Share your thoughts and tips on building capsule wardrobe, I'll love to read them.
Have a happy weekend.
xoxo

I totally agree with you that denim on denim is classic. I love to wear my denim on denim with a blazer especially now that is cold.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!! Yeah a blazer also adds a good twist to double denim.
DeleteI'm not too crazy about denim. But I'd love to try denim on denim with one of my skyscraper heels lol. I love the way your brown belt gave the outfit some sort of edge.
