BAKE IT YOURSELF: THIS VANILLA SPONGE CAKE RECIPE BY DOUGH FAIRY IS SUPER EASY!!

And super delish!

Over the weekend , I cried, begged and forced my sister to bake a cake for me we invited the fabulous owner and head cake artist of Dough Fairy Cakes and confectioneries over and best believe she blessed us with a rich and oh so delicious vanilla cake! I noticed how easy and quick it was so we pressed on till she agreed to a feature on the blog!
Since its the weekend I indulge everyone to try out this recipe.

INGREDIENTS
All purpose flour 250g 
Butter 250g
Sugar 150g
Eggs 5 large eggs
Baking powder ½ Tablespoon
Nutmeg ½ teaspoon (For extra taste)
Vanilla flavour 3 cap
1 packet of M&Ms 
Nutella


METHOD

Prepare a 7* round pan, grease sides with butter and set aside
Turn on gas and allow to heat

Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy with an electric mixer or a spatula, creaming in one direction for 20-30mins

When this is done and is fluffy, set it aside.

Beat eggs thoroughly with an electric mixer or you could just use a simple egg whisk you can pick up any local store near you.

Shift flour and baking powder (and nutmeg) .

With your spatula gradually add beaten foamy eggs and sifted flour intermittently to the creamed butter until all ingredients are incorporated into butter.

Pour cake batter into greased pan zoom cake to oven.


N.B 
Depending on how low your oven works bake for 20-30mins.

Check if cake is baked alternatively by touching the surface lightly, and see if it’s springy.
Alternatively, you can put a skewer or a simple table knife into the cake. If it comes out without residue then its ready!


Leave to cool and enjoy with a cold glass of milk!

But HOLD UP!

For a little extra something something, once the cake is cooled, use a simple glass cup to pass through the top. Pull out the glass cup and also the segmented cake.


Next poor a packet of M&Ms. With a palette knife or spoon gently spread Nutella on top. If you have cake crumbs, or sprinkles go right ahead and sprinkle on top!



There, your cake is ready.

It can be used as a birthday/anniversary cake or just something to eat through the week!
