I had the liberty of a 3-day weekend last week so I decided to test drive one of my old faves, The Camelot Resthouse. It is located at Plot 1425B Amodu Tijani Close, Victoria Island (Off Sanusi Fafunwa).
The hotel has been around for some time but has been well managed over the years and now serves as permanent residence for a number of expats.  My room, number 45, located on the fourth floor, overlooked a good enough view of Lagos' cityscape.

I have stayed at The Camelot Resthouse sometime in 2015 and the politeness and ready assistance from the staff didn't come as a surprise but was surely refreshing because some hotel staff in Lagos can't afford that luxury (gist for another time)

The one thing about this hotel that won me over was the homely feel, the rooms are painted a warm yellow and floored with cozy rugs.
The room in general was well lit, good enough for cool snapchat videos or selfies.

The portions of the complimentary breakfast on both days was generous. And apart from the constant black out in between switching from PHCN electricity to generator (no automatic standby generator). And oh, no elevator either so I got some cardio while jogging up and down the stairs.

The Camelot residence is one of Victoria Island's secrets, because the rates are very fair and the experience is worth it.
